Welcome to Delm! This guide provides a high-level overview of how the app works and routes you to the right setup for your store.

1. How Delm works

Delm is built on a "decoupled" architecture. This means we separate how it looks from how it calculates.

The widget (display): What the customer sees. It is "context-aware," automatically detecting the customer’s location (IP), language, and selected variant.
The rules (calculation): The logic behind the scenes. Your rules for processing, shipping, transit, and delivery are defined once and applied to all widgets.

Why this matters: You can change your shipping schedule in one place, and it updates every widget across your store instantly.

2. Setting up your calculations

Delm comes with pre-configured rules for processing, shipping, transit, and delivery so you can get started immediately. However, to ensure real-world accuracy, these should be customized to match your specific logistics and warehouse operations.

How can I display delivery dates?

You can display delivery dates on nearly any page of your store. Depending on the location and your theme type, you will use either a drag-and-drop App Block or a manual Liquid snippet.

Which installation method should I use?

To ensure the best experience and easiest setup, please select the guide that matches your theme type and desired location:

1. Using App Blocks (Recommended)

If you are using a modern Online Store 2.0 theme (such as Dawn, Sense, or any theme purchased recently), you can add the widget as an "App Block" directly within the theme editor. This requires no coding and allows you to drag and drop the widget exactly where you want it.

2. Using Liquid (Manual Installation)

If you are using a legacy Shopify theme, a Page Builder app (like PageFly), or want to show dates in the cart or collection grids, you will need to use a Liquid snippet.

Delm + UpCart

Accepted Answer

You can display specific delivery dates for every item inside the UpCart drawer. This setup uses UpCart's custom JSX templates to embed the Delm widget directly into the cart tiles.

Difficulty: Advanced Requirement: You must be comfortable editing JSX/HTML-like code within the UpCart editor.

1. Enable the Delm Core app embed

The Delm Core app embed is required whenever you add widgets directly to your theme templates (like UpCart) rather than using standard app blocks. It loads the necessary JavaScript to power the widgets.

Go to Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes > Customize.
Open App embeds on the left.
Toggle Delm Core to ON and click Save.

2. Create a cart-specific widget

Since space in a cart drawer is limited, we recommend creating a new widget in Delm with a much shorter message.

Design: Choose a minimal layout without large icons to ensure it fits the compact UpCart tile.

UpCart requires you to opt-in to advanced template editing.

Open the UpCart app.

How do I set different transit times?

The most common way to use transit rules is to set different delivery estimates based on the customer's location. You can easily group countries together or set specific rules for individual regions.

Why we separate processing and transit times

It can be confusing at first to see two different rules for time. We separate these to ensure a better separation of concerns in your logistics chain:

Processing time (Product-based): This is for your internal operations. You usually use this with product-based conditions (e.g., "Custom tags" or "Specific collections") to define how long it takes you to get an order ready.
Transit time (Location-based): This is for the carrier's journey. You usually use this with country-based conditions to define how long it takes the truck or plane to reach the customer.

By keeping them separate, you can update your warehouse processing speed without accidentally changing your international shipping estimates.

Setting transit times by country

To create a transit rule for a specific destination:

Go to the Transit section in the app and select Transit time.
Click Create rule and enter your desired transit duration (e.g., 3–5 days).
Add a Condition and select Shipping country.
Choose the countries or regions that should receive this specific transit time.
Save your rule.

How do I set different processing times?

The most common way to use processing rules is to set different lead times based on the specific product or variant being viewed. You can easily set a standard processing time for your whole store and create exceptions for specific types of products.
